Quality Index

The procedure provides a quality index that in one glance makes clear the level of quality of the information. The quality index is a measure for the amount of times the data of the manufacturer is incomplete or ambiguous. This is indicated with a letter. The next quality indexes are used:

A
There is no incomplete information and all information is unambigious. The manufacturer has its information in good order.
B
One piece of information is incomplete or ambigious. Ask the manufacturer an explanation if the information is relevant to you.
C
Two pieces of information are incomplete or ambigious. Ask the manufacturer an explanation if you expect problems.
D
Three pieces of information are incomplete or ambigious. Ask the manufacturer an explanation if you expect problems.
E
Four pieces of information are incomplete or ambigious. Ask the manufacturer an explanation if you expect problems.
F
Five or more pieces of information are incomplete or ambigious. Ask the manufacturer a clarification before you choose this motor.

Procedure

specAmotor has developed a procedure to determine the quality index.

Quality Index vs. quality of the solution

The quality index is an indication of the quality of the information. Having a low quality index does not mean that the motor is not suitable. After all, if the motor is unsuitable, it will not be present in the ranking. The quality of the total solution will finally determine which motor is the most suitable. That embraces the quality of the product information, but also price, delivery conditions and guarantees that the manufacturer gives.

The quality index that specAmotor provides is motivated extensively. You can use that motivation to ask the manufacturer for a clarification about the missing or incomplete information about a motor with a low quality index. So you can get a clearer picture of the quality of that product, which will improve your decision abou the motor.

Practical experience shows that it may cost a great deal of time to retrieve the missing information from the manufacturer. Therefor a motor with a high index may cost you less effort, which increases the speed to be able to decide. Something that will increase in importance in a world that demands a faster time-to-market.
